LyondellBasell’s Adflex and Lucalen resins form the foundation for a wide variety of innovative customer film applications used in the stretch hood market.
Due to the superior elastic properties of Adflex and Lucalen resins, customers' blown films provide excellent stretching behavior and can be used for all types of pallets and on all kinds of stretch hood machines.
Optimal pallet protection is achievable through outstanding resistance to puncture, tear propagation and seal quality. Good creep resistance and strong holding forces are key features for good pallet stability. Depending upon pallet dimensions, pallet load and climate conditions, these properties can be optimized by varying the respective amounts of Adflex and Lucalen resins in the film formulation, eventually in combination with other polyethylene grades.

Such a versatile film formulation approach can provide optimized stretch hood performance for all types of pallet sizes, load types and applications.
An internal LyondellBasell test method and a program to design the optimal stretch hood extrusion parameters and dimensions have been developed to help our customers develop optimal film structures for different customer end-use applications.
Adflex and Lucalen resins also offer numerous advantages for customer blown film manufacturers. They combine high thermal stability and a low melt flow rate. This results in good bubble stability, consistent film quality and high throughput on conventional blown film lines. It also lowers the risk of line contamination from degradation products and the presence of gels in the film.
